THE AREA – Clark Freeport Zone
Clark is located right at the center of Asia Pacific’s growing markets being only around 1 ½ hours flying time from Hongkong, 1 ½ hours from Taipei, 3 hours from Kuala Lumpur, and 4 hours from Singapore, Tokyo, and Seoul via the Clark International Airport. For domestic travelers, Clark is merely 1 ½ hours away from Cebu and 30 minutes from Manila and the ever famous Boracay Island.
The Clark International Airport is certified by International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) with ratings of Category I for Precision Approach Runway and Category IX for the Emergency Services. It is well equipped with Instrument Landing System, Navigational Aids, Meteorological Equipment, and complete Airfield Lighting System. On April 4, 2007, the $9.3 Million Terminal Radar Approach Control was activated making the airport a globally competitive, safest, reliable airport in the country and the Asian region.
Clark Freeport Zone is very accessible that it is only 45 minutes away by land travel from the country’s capital via the new and improved North Luzon Expressway. Recently, with the construction of the Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway, Clark is only 30 minutes away to another former American military base, the Subic Freeport Zone which is famous for its beautiful beaches.
To date, there are more than 600 local and foreign projects located inside the former American Military Base. Mainly because of its high level of security, proximity, and feasibility more foreign investors come in to take advantage of these privileges. One of which is the arrival of Texas Instruments who is set to invest over $1 billion for the next ten years.
Aside from the various business projects, there are a number of resorts, duty free shops, golf courses, bars and restaurants inside the zone that could satisfy any businessman and visitor’s discriminating taste. Right outside the Clark fence is Angeles City, which is considered as the province’s “Entertainment Capital.”
